First Look at the New Radical Grit Paddles from HEAD

HEAD sent us their new Radical Grit paddles to try, and we hit the courts with Olivia (3.0 player), Maxwell (3.5 player), and Joseph (4.5 player) to get a sense of how they played and who they are for. Overall we found them to be solid all-court paddles with ideal weighting for players coming from tennis. As always, the handles were premium, and we especially liked the quality graphics and colors paired with impressive grit similar to what you would find on a raw carbon fiber paddle.

  1. It looks like the Head arch logo on the paddle face is smooth while the rest of it is gritty. Is that true? And is this a spray on grit similar to what Selkirk does? Any longevity concerns if so?

  2. I am liking these more critical views on the products rather than just hype to sell. This is more convincing and trustworthy for the consumer to see. Very good video!!

  3. How do you measure the grit and how do you know of rules are not violated for the surface texture, Including rule “Anti-skid paint, any paint containing sand, rubber particles, or any material promoting additional spin.”
