  1. true. once we saw the eyes, the drools and all that when the raw meat appeared we knew there’s no way back. and btw raw meat is so much healthier for the teeth and fur (and basically everything).

ask yourself, why don’t they give kibble to wolves or bears in a zoo? right.

  2. I use an extremely high quality kibble and raw. Sometimes with having a service dog a few kibble meals here and there are needed to keep up with trips of any length. You have to feed expensive kibble though so the price for good food is just the price of good food. Honest kibble companies exist but you have to pay for it.

  3. :/ while kibble certainly has areas for improvement, (I fully agree with the byproduct nonsense) I’m a little disappointed that the cons for raw were cost and mess as opposed to the high rates of salmonella, E. coli, Campylobacter, Listeria, and other zoonotic pathogens that raw-fed dogs can contract and shed without showing symptoms. That’s not to say it’s a guarantee or that all dogs get sick on raw, but the risks are well documented in veterinary literature and extend beyond the dog to people in the household—especially children, elderly, or immunocompromised individuals. Raw feeding also carries real risks of nutritional imbalance, parasite exposure, and bone-related injuries if not very carefully formulated. It’s a choice some people make knowingly, and they make it hoping to improve dogs health, but presenting it as low-risk aside from mess and cost leaves out important context people deserve before deciding.
